Key Stage 1 Harvest

Pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be having a Harvest Festival assembly on Wednesday 17th October at 9.30am. Parents are invited to attend. We look forward to seeing you.

Photographs

Please return all photograph orders to school as soon as possible and by Monday 15th October at the latest. This will allow us to send orders off for processing over half term.

One day Foundation Stage closure

The Government is providing training for all Foundation Stage staff. Our date for the training is next Tuesday the 16th October 2007. Nursery and Reception classes will be closed for that day and children will not be able to attend.

Playground safety

Can I take this opportunity to remind parents that dogs are not allowed anywhere on the school premises. The reasons for this are purely for the health and safety of pupils. I would also ask that bicycles are not ridden on the yard for the same safety reasons.

I know that some parents sit on window ledges shortly before the end of the school day. Please be aware that it is often possible to hear every word spoken, inside the classroom; I am aware that some conversations may be private or may not be suitable for children’s ears.

Tyre Park

You may have noticed the tyre park near to the awning. The tyre park should only be used during breaks, lunchtimes or lessons and we will be drawing up plans to limit the use to certain groups and times. This will enable us to monitor the number of children on the tyre park at one time. The tyre park is intended to help pupils to develop balance, co-ordination, exercise, co-operation and confidence.

Half term

School closes for half term at 3.15pm on Friday 19th October 2007

School opens after half term at 9.00am on Monday 29th October 2007

Please remember that you are always welcome to see us, so that by working together we can provide the very best for your child.

Many thanks,    Alan Scott
