Children in Need

Thank you to everyone who helped to raise £200. A great effort as usual.

Christmas dates

Here are some dates for Christmas activities in school, including concerts and parties. Timings for concerts are approximate; I will send more information nearer the time for each event.

Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 Concert

Parents are invited to join us for our concert/nativity.

Wednesday 12th December at 2.25pm and Thursday 13th December at 9.30am

Years 3, 4, & 5 Christmas assemblies

We are trying out a new system this year for our older classes. Each year group is working on a different Christmas themed assembly. Parents of children in those year groups are invited to join us as they show the assembly to other groups of children. We hope that the assemblies will be fun and enjoyable in a smaller, more intimate atmosphere. Year 6 staff and pupils are planning a concert for parents for summer and they won’t be left out at Christmas as they will also be leading the whole school in singing carols and Christmas readings. Unfortunately, this will have to be for pupils only, as with the whole school involved there is no extra room in the Hall.

Year 3 assembly: Thursday 13th December at 2.30pm

Year 4 assembly: Friday 14th December at 9.20am

Year 5 assembly: Monday 17th December at 2.30pm

Christmas parties

Nursery & Reception: Wednesday 19th December

Y1 & Y2: Tuesday 18th December

Y1& 2 are at a pantomime on Wednesday 19th December

Years 3, 4, 5 & 6: Thursday 20th December

Christmas Holidays

School closes for Christmas on Friday 21st December 2007 at 3.15pm.

School opens after New Year on Monday 7th January 2008 at 9.00am.

Parking/Driving on Torre Drive at end of school

I am aware that Torre Drive is a really difficult area at the end of the school day. Could I ask that everyone is as careful as possible when parking and driving in the area. We had a minor accident recently involving a child and a car which could have been much worse: fortunately the driver was only moving slowly and no serious injury occurred. I have spoken to the children in assembly about the importance of crossing the road with care. I will again ask the council about crossing wardens.
