Playground safety:
Following discussions with a number of parents, I have met with all staff to discuss the ways in which we can further increase the safety of pupils in the playground. With over 300 pupils playing, it is inevitable that there will be the occasional fall or collision, but we want to minimise any risk. We have outlined to pupils a set of rules to help with this. These rules will be regularly emphasised by staff, will be on display in each classroom and will be enforced by staff at lunchtimes and playtimes. The rules are simple but should be effective in reducing accidents. The rules are:
Children in Need:
Thank you for your support. Our non-uniform day raised over £200 for “Children in Need”. This was a brilliant effort!
Parents’ Consultation Evenings:
Thank you to everyone who attended the parents’ evenings recently. We are aware that not all parents attended and we are considering ways in which we can offer a service which allows more parents to attend. The staff have already discussed this briefly at a staff meeting and we will be looking in more detail at a date in the near future.
I will write to parents soon to ask for their opinions on the Parents’ Consultation Evenings and invite suggestions for ways in which we could alter our current arrangements.
