Half – term, May 2006

Uniform update

I mentioned in my last newsletter that we were looking to simplify the school uniform/colours. I know that towards the end of term or during the summer holidays, parents will be wanting to start planning and buying school clothes.

I will send out a booklet with complete details in the near future, but I thought it would be useful to share some of the main points with you now.

• We will be using the same sweatshirts as we currently use as a base for the uniform (we explored new designs and logos but it seemed more convenient for parents to keep the same).
• Pupils will be able to wear plain dark blue sweatshirts, jumpers and cardigans, instead of the school sweatshirt, although we would love it if all pupils could wear a school sweatshirt.
• Blouses, shirts, polo shirts – white/pale blue
• Trousers/skirts/short trousers - grey
• Dresses (summer) – blue gingham
• Pinafores – grey/blue

We will be setting up a display in the school entrance with examples of the above. We have chosen items from a number of stores for convenience and good value for parents (Matalan, Asda, Tesco, to name but a few).

I will write to let you know when the display is ready. I will also send you full details of the uniform.

Reports

Staff are currently beginning work on writing end of term reports for sending to parents in July.

Half - term dates

School closes for half - term at 3.15pm on Thursday, 25th May (Friday is a staff training day)

School re-opens after half – term at 9.00am on Tuesday 6th June (Monday is a staff training day)
