Easter holiday

School closes for Easter this Friday, 7th April at 3.15pm

School re-opens after Easter on Monday 24th April at 9.00am

Strike Action

You will be aware that school was closed for health and safety reasons during the recent strike of Local Government unions. You may also be aware that the unions involved are threatening further strike action. I am not currently aware of any exact dates, but I understand that the next strike may take place during the first week back after Easter. One possible date mentioned has been Thursday, 27th April. I have received no official notification at this point.

I will inform parents of any action which affects school, at the earliest opportunity, giving parents the most notice possible should school need to close again. In the meantime, please look for announcements in the news and the press.

School Uniform

We are currently discussing issues around our school uniform, raised by many parents, the School Council and staff. Very shortly I will be presenting to parents the new school uniform guidance. We hope that a simpler, more definite policy will aid parents in this matter.

Please take a look at some suggestions for our School Uniform.

Year 6 SAT tests

The year 6 SAT tests take place during the week beginning May 8th. It is essential that all Year 6 pupils attend for the whole week so please avoid booking holidays for this time and let’s keep the children healthy!

On behalf of all the staff at Brownhill, may I take this opportunity to wish you a lovely Easter.

Alan Scott
