Newsletter for Parents

Parents’ Information Newsletter 9th  March 2006

Red Nose Day, Friday 16th March

Next Friday is Red Nose Day. In recognition of the event, we will be asking children (and staff) to join in with our “Dress in Red” theme. We are asking that everyone who wants to join in wears at least one item of red clothing.

We will be charging children (and staff) for the privilege of dressing in red. All contributions will be sent to the Comic Relief fund. We would appreciate donations in the region of at least 50p but £1 would be better!

We have a number of Red Noses for sale at £1. These will be on sale on the day, first come first served; only one nose each.

Attendance & Lateness

Attendance in school has been particularly low recently. I realize that there have been a number of illnesses on the rounds, including chicken pox, but I hope that pupil attendance will improve greatly in the coming weeks and months. I know that we all agree that good attendance at school is vital to a child’s educational development and future chances in life.

I would ask for the help of all parents in this matter, to ensure that their children attend school regularly. My thanks to all those parents whose children already have an excellent attendance record.

Would all parents please ensure that children are at school by 9.00am but not before 8.50am. We are also experiencing problems with children being picked up after 3.15. Please help us by picking your child up at 3.15 at the classroom exit.

Thank you for your help.

Alan Scott
